[AKyung Hit Product] Unlimited Cancer Treatment Sessions Guaranteed... Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance's 'New Continuous Cancer Insurance'
Identifying Family History Through Next-Generation Sequencing Testing
[Asia Economy Reporter Minwoo Lee] An insurance product that guarantees unlimited rounds of chemotherapy treatment for the first time in the industry has been launched.
Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance recently released the 'New Continuous Cancer Insurance,' which focuses on covering various treatment costs after a cancer diagnosis. It is the first product in the industry to repeatedly compensate chemotherapy treatment costs without limiting the number of treatments, and it allows patients and their families to predict optimal cancer treatment and the likelihood of occurrence through genetic testing.
Unlike existing chemotherapy treatment cost coverage products that mostly compensate only once, a new 'continuous payment' coverage has been established that pays for each chemotherapy treatment session based on inpatient and outpatient criteria. This enables cancer patients to receive long-term treatment without financial burden.
Additionally, a personalized precision medical system has been introduced, and a new coverage providing 'Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) testing' to customers and their families has been added. Through this test, customers can identify the optimal chemotherapy drugs to improve treatment efficiency and predict future cancer risks due to family history. Furthermore, coverage for ultra-expensive treatments such as 'CAR-T chemotherapy drug authorized treatment' and continuous coverage for similar cancers (other skin/thyroid cancers) has been newly established.
The 'New Continuous Cancer Insurance' is available for subscription from age 0 to 70. It consists of a renewable plan with a maximum 30-year term and a plan with a maximum term up to age 100. Premiums for the renewable plan are approximately 40,000 KRW for 40-year-old males and about 90,000 KRW for 50-year-old males.
