On the 18th (local time), AP News and NewsNow reported, citing local rescue authorities, that a Hawaiian Airlines A330 passenger plane traveling from Phoenix, Arizona to Honolulu Airport in Hawaii encountered severe turbulence about 30 minutes before arrival, injuring 36 people. The aircraft was carrying 278 passengers and 10 crew members.
Honolulu Emergency Medical Services stated in a press release that 11 people were hospitalized in critical condition due to the turbulence, and 9 others received treatment and stabilized. Medical personnel received a report of injured passengers around 11 a.m. and treated a total of 36 people. Among them, 20 were transported to nearby hospitals for additional treatment. The medical team explained that the injured suffered serious head injuries and loss of consciousness.
