Substation Name 'Gyeongbokdae' Confirmed as Secondary Name for Jinjeop Station on Subway Line 4
[Asia Economy (Namyangju) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Kyungbok University announced on the 16th that from January 2023, the secondary station name for Jinjeop Station on Seoul Subway Line 4 has been confirmed as 'Kyungbokdae'.
Recently, Kyungbokdae signed a contract with the Korea Rail Network Authority for the use of the secondary station name. Kyungbokdae explained that this selection of the secondary station name will further strengthen the university's status as a representative institution in the region.
According to this contract, Kyungbokdae will be able to use the secondary station name on ▲station building name signs (external nameplates, pole signs) ▲station entrance name signs ▲platform name signs ▲train route maps and announcement broadcasts.
The Jinjeop Line, an extension of Seoul Subway Line 4 to Namyangju, opened in March. It takes 14 minutes from Seoul Danggogae Station and 57 minutes from Seoul Station to reach Jinjeop Station (Kyungbokdae).

A Kyungbokdae official stated, "With the opening of Seoul Subway Line 4, the use of public transportation for students commuting to and from Kyungbokdae has been dramatically faster and more convenient," adding, "The significant reduction in students' commuting time not only improves satisfaction with university life but also raises great expectations for recruiting excellent new students amid a sharp decline in admissions."
