[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] T'way Air announced on the 16th that it conducted a joint safety and health inspection to ensure the safety of workers operating at airports and to prevent safety hazards in advance for the safe operation of aircraft.
The joint safety and health inspection was conducted in accordance with the Industrial Safety and Health Act to strengthen corporate safety management and responsibility for subcontracted projects. T'way Air also forms an inspection team with its partner companies and conducts regular quarterly inspections as part of proactive safety and health management.
In particular, the 4th quarter joint safety and health inspection focused on preventing accidents caused by winter cold waves or icing, prioritizing safety checks at ground handling sites. Inspections have been completed at Incheon Airport and Gimpo Airport. Inspections are planned to be conducted at Daegu, Cheongju, Gwangju, and Gimhae Airports within this month.
During the inspection held on the afternoon of the 13th at Gimpo Airport, T'way Air CEO Jeong Hong-geun, the responsible executive, safety managers, and partner company employees formed a joint inspection team and closely examined each work site within the airport.
The main items included ▲inspection to prevent slips of passengers and workers due to icing on step cars (boarding stairs vehicles) ▲inspection of de-icing and anti-icing equipment ▲simulation of de-icing and anti-icing equipment operation and inspection of protective gear condition.
They also visited rest facilities of T'way Air and partner companies within the airport to check the management status of each facility and the attachment of safety and health signs.
An industrial safety expert from the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency also attended the schedule, providing guidance and advice on accident prevention technology during the on-site inspection, and conducted a review after the inspection to enhance the completeness of the joint inspection.
T'way Air manages work site procedures according to the standards specified in the Industrial Safety and Health Act, identifies potential hazards in advance, establishes improvement measures, and is fully committed to securing workplace safety through regular inspections.
