Gyeonggi-do Volunteer Fire Brigade Association Presidents Elected: 'Shin Hee-cheol and Eom Su-hyeon'
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Shin Hee-cheol (male) and Eom Su-hyun (female) have been elected as the presidents of the Gyeonggi-do Volunteer Fire Brigade Association.
The Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters announced on the 16th that Shin Hee-cheol, president of the Pyeongtaek Fire Station Association, and Eom Su-hyun, president of the Bundang Fire Station Association, were elected as the male and female presidents, respectively, who will lead the Volunteer Fire Brigade Association for the next three years starting next year.
Presidents Shin Hee-cheol and Eom Su-hyun will lead over 11,000 members of the Gyeonggi-do Volunteer Fire Brigade from January 2023 to December 2025.
The Gyeonggi-do Volunteer Fire Brigade consists of 430 teams and 11,191 members, serving as guardians of citizen safety by engaging in fire suppression, rescue and emergency medical services, fire prevention, and community support.
In particular, the Volunteer Fire Brigade operates a 'Life Safety Specialist Team' that carries out activities such as removing beehives and capturing animals, providing significant assistance during gaps caused by firefighters' emergency dispatches.
