‘Ship Fire’ Near Geoje Hannae Port... 60s Crew Member Rescued

View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] At around 5:43 a.m. on the 16th, a fire of unknown cause broke out on a 900-ton vessel anchored near Hannae Port in Yeoncho-myeon, Geoje-si, Gyeongnam.
According to Changwon Coast Guard, the fire was extinguished at around 7:07 a.m. that day by the dispatched coast guard and firefighters, and one crew member was safely rescued.
Changwon Coast Guard received a report from a man in his 60s who was on board the vessel and urgently dispatched patrol boats, the Changwon Rescue Team, and coastal rescue boats to the accident area.
They requested support from two civilian rescue vessels as well as the Geoje Fire Station of the Gyeongnam Fire Headquarters and the Tongyeong Fire Station to extinguish the fire and rescue the crew.
