Jangseong-gun Imposes 1.278 Billion Won in Second Term Automobile Tax
[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 15th that it imposed 1.278 billion KRW in automobile tax on 10,338 cases for the second term of 2022.
This automobile tax is levied on the owners listed in the automobile registration ledger as of December 1. Vehicles with an annual tax amount under 100,000 KRW and those that paid the annual automobile tax in a lump sum are excluded from taxation.
The payment deadline is January 2 of next year, and a 3% surcharge will be added if the deadline is missed.
Payments can be made at all financial institutions nationwide, as well as via smartphone apps, Wetax, and virtual account transfers.
If both electronic delivery and automatic transfer are applied for, a tax credit of 300 KRW can be received.

Meanwhile, due to amendments in the Local Tax Act, the automobile tax annual payment deduction rate will be adjusted from 10% to 7% starting next year. It is expected to decrease to 5% in 2024 and 3% after 2025.
