Pulmuone Foods released two types of ‘Diabetes Care Meal Plan Fried Rice,’ designed according to the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety’s standards for meal management foods for diabetes patients, allowing them to enjoy healthy and delicious meals anytime and anywhere. The new products consider the single serving size for diabetes patients, enabling a proper meal to be conveniently prepared at home. Each product contains at least 18g of protein relative to total calories, with saturated fat and sugars each below 10%, and sodium designed at 1350 mg.
The Diabetes Care Meal Plan Fried Rice uses brown rice and barley as main ingredients, making it ideal not only for diabetes patients but also for those who need to reduce sugar intake. The brown rice uses the soft-textured Miho brown rice variety, allowing comfortable consumption without a coarse texture. Additionally, the rice is cooked using a traditional cauldron direct-fire method to enhance the fluffy texture and flavor. The chicken fried rice features thick chicken breast meat and is richly complemented with seven vegetables including carrot, cabbage, green onion, onion, zucchini, green bell pepper, and red paprika, creating a rich texture and mild fried rice. The beef fried rice includes thinly sliced beef and three types of mushrooms?enoki, king oyster, and shiitake?adding a fragrant flavor. The cooking time and method were carefully considered to maximize the mushrooms’ aromatic and chewy texture.
The cooking method is also simple. Without adding extra ingredients or oil, just add two spoons of water to a frying pan and stir-fry over medium heat for about 4 minutes to enjoy delicious fried rice. Alternatively, heating in a microwave for about 4 minutes (based on 1000W) completes a tasty meal.
