Safety as the top priority, thorough advance preparation and safety management ensured
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] The "17th Busan Fireworks Festival," which will decorate the winter sea and night sky of beautiful Busan, is just 3 days away.
On the 14th at 10:30 a.m., Park Hyung-joon, Mayor of Busan, will personally visit Gwangalli Beach, the site of the Busan Fireworks Festival held normally for the first time in 3 years, to conduct a final inspection focused on the safety and convenience of spectators.
This on-site inspection is conducted to urge related organizations to prevent safety accidents and establish a preemptive readiness posture, and to review the roles of each organization and the status of cooperation system establishment. Mayor Park will personally move along the spectator routes on site and check the response plans for various situations.
As a large number of spectators are expected to gather at this fireworks festival, the city has held several inspection meetings starting from the working-level council to thoroughly prepare for all anticipated situations in advance. This includes a pre-event safety inspection led by the Deputy Mayor on the 6th, an emergency safety inspection by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety on the 9th, and safety training for team leaders by district on the 13th, maintaining continuous pre-event safety preparedness.
Mayor Park Hyung-joon will first hold a safety measures inspection meeting at the "Busan Fireworks Festival Comprehensive Situation Room" (Suyoung-gu Life Culture Center), which will be intensively operated starting from the 14th.
At the meeting, he will discuss inspection items and safety measures for the entire event with related organizations, and based on this, check the establishment status of roles by organization, cooperation systems, and pre-event preparedness.
Following the briefing, he will walk the spectator route from Gwangalli Beach to Gwangalli Station of the urban railway, personally inspecting safety-vulnerable areas in detail and checking risk factors directly.

In particular, at Gwangalli Station of the urban railway, assuming a situation where a large crowd gathers and safety accidents occur inside the station, he will directly observe on-site response training involving the Southern Fire Station’s fire rescue team and fire suppression team to intensively check the safety response system for rapid action in case of emergencies.
Additionally, to ensure the safe and successful hosting of the Busan Fireworks Festival, the city will conduct a joint on-site inspection with related organizations such as the Ministry of the Interior and Safety on the day before the festival, the 16th, and on the day of the event, a final on-site inspection will be carried out to respond flawlessly to any safety accidents.
Especially on the day of the event, Mayor Park plans to stay at the comprehensive situation room to monitor the overall safety situation of the festival.
