The Advisory Committee is composed of a total of 17 members, including experts, university professors, executives of public and large corporations, city council members, and public officials, all of whom possess extensive knowledge, experience, and prestige in fields such as energy and carbon neutrality, physics and chemistry, tourism and planning, and agriculture.

The Advisory Committee, composed of top experts in each field, is responsible for advising on the overall energy policy of Naju City in line with the global energy paradigm shift and government energy policy directions such as RE100.
‘RE100,’ a major issue in the industry, stands for ‘Renewable Energy 100%’ and refers to a voluntary global renewable energy campaign in which companies meet 100% of their electricity needs through renewable energy sources such as solar and wind power.
The city plans to focus discussions on fostering new energy industries by attracting RE100 demand and supply companies centered on the Advisory Committee, revitalizing the Energy Valley, developing resident-experienced policies, and promoting international energy events.
The Advisory Committee appointed Professor Moon Seung-il as chairman and Representative Lee Soon-hyung as vice chairman through recommendations from all members, and established an operation plan including regular meetings once every six months and occasional meetings convened by the chairman.
Chairman Moon Seung-il said, “As domestic companies continue to declare RE100 and the competitiveness of the renewable energy market increases, it is time for Naju, the energy capital, to play a meaningful role. The Advisory Committee will actively strive to attract RE100 demand and supply companies and develop policies by utilizing Naju’s differentiated infrastructure conditions and strengths compared to other regions.”
Mayor Yoon Byung-tae said, “It is an honor and a gratitude to have gathered the best people in various fields including energy as advisory members of the RE100 Energy Policy Committee. I hope the advisory members will pool their experience and wisdom so that Naju can play a leading role in RE100 policies worthy of the title of energy capital.”
