The concert, held the day before at the Asan 2nd Plant auditorium, was organized to review this year’s project and to build consensus among local community stakeholders. About 200 people attended the event, including project beneficiaries and their families, local government officials, community welfare workers, and employees.
Attendees toured Samsung Display’s newly opened PR center, "Di:tteul." They also watched a joint performance by the youth choir for developmental disabilities, "Voled," and the visually impaired performance group, "Dreamy Arts Troupe."
A student who watched the concert said, "Through the Mujigae project, I received support for strabismus surgery and have now fully recovered, allowing me to read books and concentrate on my studies without difficulty."
Samsung Display also announced that the proceeds from a bazaar organized by employees were donated to low-income households in Asan City.
Mujigae is Samsung’s flagship CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) project that began in 1995. Samsung Display has been managing the project since 2020. The activities were suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic but resumed this year.
The name Mujigae was chosen through an internal contest at Samsung Display. It carries the meaning of "bringing light and hope to those suffering from eye diseases." This year, treatment and surgery costs were supported for 1,260 people.
