LS Cable Asia Completes Expansion at Fully Operational Vietnam Factory, "Production Capacity Increased by 15%"
Over 80% of UTP Cable Exports to the Americas Region
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] LS Cable Asia, Vietnam's No.1 comprehensive cable company, has completed the expansion of LAN cable (UTP) facilities at its Ho Chi Minh City production subsidiary LSCV with an investment of approximately 6.8 billion KRW. The decision to expand was made in response to continuous requests from customers to increase supply. The company expects production capacity to increase by more than 15%.
On the 13th, LS Cable Asia stated regarding this facility expansion, "More than 80% of LAN cables are exported to the Americas," and "Orders have increased by more than 20% compared to last year, and the factory is operating at full capacity, with continuous additional supply requests from customers." UTP cables are used for communication network connections over short distances inside buildings such as offices and apartments. The Americas account for more than 40% of global demand, and the market continues to grow due to the U.S. government's expanded infrastructure investment and informatization progress.
LS Cable Asia has established itself as Vietnam's No.1 comprehensive cable company through its power cable production subsidiary LS-VINA in Hai Phong City and its second production subsidiary LSCV in Ho Chi Minh City. Additionally, LS Cable Asia is a major export company earning more than 20% of its sales overseas.
Not only has it dominated the domestic Vietnamese market, but it is also achieving results in new businesses. In June this year, LSCV supplied optical cables to Viettel, Vietnam's largest mobile telecommunications operator. It also supplied 'busduct,' a high-capacity power supply system, to Vinhomes, Vietnam's largest real estate developer. LS Cable Asia has been investing in facilities at LSCV since 2017 with the plan to capture the Vietnamese market based on the technological prowess of LS Cable, the No.1 busduct company in Korea.

As the Vietnamese government increases the share of renewable energy such as offshore wind and solar power generation, related businesses are also expanding. A company official said, "Vietnam lacks specialized submarine cable companies, so all are imported from China and others," adding, "We expect additional orders through collaboration with the parent company LS Cable after the offshore wind power business is fully launched." The achievements in Vietnam are reflected in LS Cable Asia's performance. LS Cable Asia's cumulative sales for the third quarter of this year reached 624.2 billion KRW, the highest ever.
