LPGA Q-Series 6R Co-2nd Place Yoo Hae-ran: "Shot Eagle Was Really Good"
[Asia Economy Reporter No Woo-rae] ‘2020 KLPGA Rookie of the Year’ Yoo Hae-ran (photo) has taken one step closer to heading to the United States.
On the 9th (local time), Yoo Hae-ran shot 5 under par in the 6th round of the LPGA Qualifying (Q) Series held at Highland Oaks Golf Course (par 72) in Dothan, Alabama, USA, rising to a tie for 2nd place (19 under par 411 strokes). She is 4 strokes behind the leader, Isi Gap-sa (Germany), who is at 23 under par 407 strokes. In this tournament, which is played over a total of 8 rounds, finishing within the top 20 secures a tour card to play most of the LPGA Tour events next season.
- You played well today with 5 under par.
▲ My shots were good early on, and my putting was also good. I think I caught a good rhythm after eagling the 2nd hole (par 4). However, I feel a bit disappointed that this momentum didn’t continue through to the 18th hole (par 4). Still, I managed to reduce 5 strokes. I think I can finish the remaining rounds with a good feeling.
- Did you realize you eagled the 2nd hole?
▲ Yes, I knew it was an eagle. There was a gallery member on the green who gestured that the ball went in. The pin position was difficult, so I was hoping to save par, but that shot turned into an eagle, which made me very happy. I think the eagle helped my score come out well.

▲ My goal since coming to the Q Series was to be in the ‘top 10’. After completing 6 rounds, I am playing well near the top of the leaderboard. The greens are difficult, so I will play to target easier spots. The Q Series is played over 8 rounds. Like Korean tournaments, winning is something decided by fate. I will focus only on my own play.
