Yongin City Creates 23,759 Local Jobs This Year... 107% of Target Achieved
[Asia Economy (Yongin) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province achieved 107% of its regional job creation target this year.
Yongin City announced on the 7th that through five core projects this year ? strengthening the job policy control tower function, creating customized jobs by social class, attracting professional science and technology service industries, revitalizing the social economy, and fostering healthy small business owners ? it created 23,759 regional jobs, exceeding the initial target of 21,749.
The city first leveraged its characteristic of having many golf courses to provide jobs for women with career interruptions through the 'Golf Caddy Training Program' and created local industry-tailored jobs, as well as senior jobs and Hope Dream jobs for vulnerable groups.
Additionally, the Yongin Youth Job Creation Project, which supported wages for companies hiring youth, and customized support through the Yongin City Job Center and the Women New Work Center also achieved results.
In particular, at the Yongin Job Fair, meetings with current workers in fields such as HR, IT development, marketing, public enterprises, and sales were arranged for young job seekers, receiving great responses from job applicants.
These achievements led to winning the Excellence Award in the Job Disclosure System category at the '2022 National Local Government Job Awards' hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor.
The city plans to continue employment counseling and job placement as scheduled until the end of this year, aiming to create an additional 180 jobs.
