Jeonnam Provincial Assembly Member Park Moon-ok Receives 'Youth Hope Award' in Metropolitan Assembly Member Category
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] The Korea Youth Foundation announced on the 6th that Park Moon-ok, Jeonnam Provincial Assembly member (Democratic Party of Korea·Mokpo 3), was selected as the metropolitan council member awardee at the ‘7th Youth Hope Awards’.
The ‘Youth Hope Awards’ discover ordinances, legislation, and policies closely related to the lives of youth, with 1,000 young people directly participating in the voting to select the final awardees.
First held in 2015, the ‘Youth Hope Awards’ have honored a total of 69 recipients, including basic and metropolitan council members, local government heads, and members of the National Assembly.
This year, a total of 23 awardees were selected, including three metropolitan council members from 17 metropolitan cities and provinces, among them Jeonnam Province.
Assembly member Park Moon-ok was recognized for her dedication to youth welfare, including advocating for the relaxation of the standards for out-of-school youth education allowances provided by Jeonnam Province and the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education, and urging the expansion of these payments in next year’s budget, leading to her selection as an awardee.
In particular, she took the lead in proposing the ‘Partial Amendment to the Jeonnam Province Youth Development and Activity Support Ordinance’ to the Jeonnam Youth Development Committee to ensure the protection of youth rights, thereby preparing improvement measures.
