Gwangju Buk-gu, Comprehensive Measures for Resident Life Stability in Winter Season 추진
Comprehensive Winter Disaster Preparedness Measures Including COVID-19 Spread Prevention and Protection of Vulnerable Groups
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju City, is preparing measures to ensure a safe and warm winter without inconvenience to residents' lives in anticipation of the winter season.
Buk-gu announced on the 6th that it will implement a comprehensive winter resident life stabilization plan until February next year to protect vulnerable groups during the winter and prepare for various accidents.
This comprehensive plan includes 17 tasks in 4 areas: ▲ prevention of local COVID-19 infections and blocking spread ▲ support for low-income groups and strengthening protection for vulnerable groups ▲ stabilization of ordinary citizens' lives and resolution of residents' inconveniences ▲ strengthening disaster preparedness and safety management.
First, to prepare for the resurgence of COVID-19 during the winter, the Disaster Safety Countermeasures Headquarters will operate a quarantine response organization and personnel on a regular basis, inspect quarantine rules at infection-vulnerable facilities, and conduct additional COVID-19 vaccinations to protect residents' health and lives.
Low-income and vulnerable groups in welfare blind spots will be actively identified and supported, and through the activation of participation in the sharing culture, heating supplies and daily necessities will be provided, while safety inspections of welfare facilities for vulnerable groups will also be promoted.
To support the stabilization of ordinary citizens' lives, thorough management of local prices will be ensured through crackdowns on unfair commercial practices, guidance and inspection of origin labeling for industrial products and agricultural, fishery, and livestock products, and provision of price trend information.
In particular, to overcome the drought crisis, active water-saving measures such as household water pressure adjustment and water-saving campaigns will be promoted, and a winter natural disaster management system will be established to prepare for heavy snow, cold waves, and forest fires.
District Mayor Moon In said, “We are implementing this plan to ensure that all residents can spend a safe and warm winter without accidents during these difficult times caused by COVID-19 and the economic crisis,” and added, “We will continue to focus all administrative efforts on stabilizing residents' lives and improving their quality of life.”
