The number of new cases on this day increased by 54,444 compared to the previous day (23,160). This is the largest number in 83 days since September 14 (93,949 cases). It is the highest number of cases since the 7th wave.
The number of critically ill patients currently hospitalized is 443, which is 15 fewer than the previous day. The number of critically ill patients has remained above 400 for 18 consecutive days.
There were 24 new COVID-19 related deaths reported on this day. The cumulative death toll is 30,793, with a fatality rate of 0.11%.
