On the 2nd, about 30 executives and employees, including Cho Hyun-min, President of Hanjin’s Future Growth Strategy and Marketing, delivered briquettes directly to low-income families and elderly living alone in the Jeongneung-dong area of Seongbuk-gu, Seoul, sharing warm affection.
Every year at the end of the year, Hanjin has carried out the Love Briquette Sharing volunteer activity to help neighbors in need. It was suspended for three years due to COVID-19 but resumed this year. Through the briquette volunteer work, the company fulfills its social responsibility and provides an opportunity to strengthen employee unity.
President Cho Hyun-min and voluntarily participating executives and employees carried 2 to 3 briquettes weighing 3.6kg each close to their chests and personally delivered them to residents’ homes, conveying a small but warm meaning of sharing. After delivering all the briquettes, they finished the volunteer work by cleaning up fallen briquette dust and debris.
Hanjin is establishing a corporate culture of sharing and coexistence through various volunteer activities. Through CSV (Creating Shared Value) activities, it promotes ethical consumption and pursues coexistence with local communities. Part of the sales from the ‘Gift in My Wallet’ gift card, which supports income increases for farmers, fishermen, and livestock farmers, was donated to ‘Beagle Rescue Network’ for hygiene supplies for abandoned dogs. A portion of the profits from the eco-friendly platform ‘Green On Hanjin’ was donated to the nonprofit environmental organization ‘Etha Seoul’.
