The ruling and opposition parties continued their sharp confrontation over the budget bill and related subsidiary bills.
On the 5th, Sung Il-jong, Policy Committee Chairman of the People Power Party, said in his opening remarks at the Emergency Response Committee meeting, "We should congratulate the leader of the National Assembly's largest opposition party on his 100th day in office, but the reality is too unfortunate to do so," and criticized, "Under Lee's leadership, who was elected with the highest vote share in history and promised to become a 'strong, competent party that cares for people's livelihoods,' the Democratic Party has become the most precarious it has ever been in the past 100 days." He pointed at Lee, saying, "He has become a leader not competent and caring for people's livelihoods, but one at the center of allegations of corruption during his time as mayor of Seongnam."
Sung, the Policy Committee Chairman, pointed out, "The Democratic Party, which has been a pillar of South Korean political history and has a proud history, has become the core of corruption to protect Lee alone," and harshly criticized laws passed under Lee's leadership led by the opposition, such as the Grain Management Act, the Yellow Envelope Act, and the Broadcasting Act amendments, calling them "laws that severely undermine agricultural competitiveness" and "laws that encourage illegal strikes."
He said, "Reasonable lawmakers have lost their place to stand, and those who speak the truth become outcasts in the pitiful Democratic Party, which Lee has reduced to this state," adding, "Rather than celebrating the 100th day in office, it is only regrettable that the fate of the Democratic Party is being controlled by one person."
Jeong Jin-seok, Emergency Committee Chairman, also indirectly targeted Lee by asking, "What is more important to the Democratic Party: 'saving people's livelihoods' or 'saving that person'?" He criticized, "The Democratic Party has abandoned the national investigation into the Itaewon tragedy and the preparation of alternatives, instead expanding political strife to shield Lee."
He said, "Even two days before the constitutional deadline for budget approval, the Democratic Party insisted on setting a plenary session date to dismiss Minister of the Interior and Safety Lee Sang-min, and forcibly passed a law allowing the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions and the Federation of Korean Trade Unions to take control of public broadcasting," adding, "They agreed to conduct a national investigation after the budget approval but suddenly brought up the dismissal motion, holding the livelihood budget hostage," sharply criticizing the Democratic Party.

Meanwhile, Lee marked his 100th day in office but did not hold a separate press conference. Instead, through the Supreme Council meeting, he criticized the government, saying, "Politics has disappeared during the 200 days of the Yoon Seok-youl administration, which has abandoned people's livelihoods and focused only on suppressing the opposition."
