At this academic conference, the Pukyong National University AI Research Institute team won the Best Award in the Undergraduate and Capstone Design Presentation Paper category for their paper titled "Development of an AI Model for Coating Lifespan Prediction Based on Preliminary Coating Test Data."
The research team included students An Yehyeon, Joo Seongwook, Eom Hyerin, Research Professor Park Jinhwan, Senior Researcher Kim Chaegyu, and Dr. Song Bokdeuk from the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI).
This paper received high evaluation for addressing the increasing demand for the development of a scientific, economical, and efficient coating diagnostic system for rational coating maintenance, resolving errors in visual inspection by diagnosticians, and proposing an objective and rational coating diagnostic method.
In this paper, the research team developed an AI coating lifespan prediction model that solves the multi-label classification problem using preliminary test data of coatings, producing research results that predict the timing for recoating.
Additionally, Pukyong National University researchers Lee Taekyung, Eom Hyerin, Senior Researcher Kim Chaegyu, and Researcher Jeong Chiyoon from ETRI received the Excellent Paper Award for their paper titled "Research on Sound-based Facial Image Generation for Sensory Substitution."
This paper was evaluated for proposing a method that classifies sounds, converts the classified results into sound intensity, and generates images optimized for sound intensity to provide users with rich visual information.
The paper presents a sensory substitution method that fuses auditory and visual information to generate augmented visual information.
