The Industry-Academia Research Project Excellent Invention Awards is a system that selects and rewards outstanding patents filed during research projects conducted at universities collaborating with SK Hynix. It has been held annually since 2013.
Professor Minhyuk Kim of KAIST, who was selected for the Grand Prize in this award, developed a technology that reduces noise related to CIS (CMOS Image Sensor) imaging. This technology received high praise due to its high potential for application in actual products. In addition, Professor Jaeduk Han of Hanyang University was awarded the Excellence Award, and Professors Namik Cho of Seoul National University, Woojin Jeon of Kyung Hee University, and Donghee Lee of Sungkyunkwan University were selected for the Encouragement Award.
