SK, Executive Personnel Changes Today: 'Vice Chairmen Reappointed... ICT Division Reshuffle'
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Hyung-gil] SK Group will carry out executive appointments by affiliate on the 1st.
The main vice chairmen are likely to remain in their positions. Currently, the SK Supex Council, the group's highest decision-making body, is expected to see Chairman Cho Dae-sik secure a fourth term. Since his appointment in 2017, Chairman Cho has held the two-year term position three times.
Most CEOs of major affiliates, including Vice Chairman Jang Dong-hyun of SK Inc., Vice Chairman Kim Jun of SK Innovation, Vice Chairman Park Jung-ho of SK Hynix, and Vice Chairman Yoo Jung-joon of SK E&S, are also likely to be retained.
In the president-level appointments, it is reported that Park Sung-ha, CEO of SK C&C, will move to become CEO of SK Square, an investment-specialized company.
Despite the SK C&C Pangyo data center fire that caused the 'Kakao outage incident,' CEO Park appears to have been recognized for his capabilities in designing investment portfolios and discovering new digital businesses.
Before serving as CEO of SK C&C, Park was head of the Strategy Support Team at the Supex Council and is said to have strong trust from SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won.
With Park's move to SK Square, the vacant CEO position at SK C&C is expected to be filled by Yoon Poong-young, Chief Investment Officer (CIO) of SK Square.
