Prosecutors Indict Hong Nampyo, Changwon Special Mayor ... Alleged Violation of Election Law

According to the Changwon District Prosecutors' Office, Mayor Hong is accused of bribing a candidate by promising a public office during the nationwide simultaneous local elections last June.
On the 2nd, the prosecution conducted a search and seizure at Mayor Hong's residence, the city hall office, and the home of Mr. A, a member of the election campaign team during his candidacy.
On the 23rd, Mayor Hong was summoned as a suspect and interrogated from around 10 a.m. until 10 p.m.
The Changwon District Prosecutors' Office announced that Mayor Hong and three others, including Mr. A from the election campaign team, have been indicted.

Earlier, on the 4th, Mayor Hong denied the allegations, stating, "I have never proposed a public office nor accepted any demand for a public office."
