KCC Glass Achieves Highest Grade in SustainBest ESG Evaluation
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] KCC Glass has achieved the highest rating of 'AA' in Sustainvest's '2022 Second Half Listed Companies ESG Performance Evaluation.'
Sustainvest, a leading domestic ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) evaluation agency, conducts a comprehensive assessment of the ESG management levels of over 1,000 listed companies twice a year, in the first and second halves. It assigns integrated ratings as well as sector ratings by company size to assist investors and stakeholders in understanding.
In this evaluation, KCC Glass ranked 16th overall among 1,045 surveyed companies and received the highest 'AA' rating in both the integrated rating and the sector rating by company size.
This achievement marks the second year since KCC Glass was first included as an evaluation target last year. Since its establishment in 2020 after being spun off from KCC, KCC Glass has continuously strengthened its ESG management by joining the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) and participating in the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) to disclose environmental information. This year, it also began supporting ESG improvement activities for its partners to manage a sustainable supply chain.
In addition to the Sustainvest evaluation this year, KCC Glass earned a 'Gold' rating in the '2022 Sustainability Assessment' by the global research agency EcoVadis and was selected for the second consecutive year in the Top 100 at the report competition hosted by the U.S. Communication Leaders Association (LACP) for its second ESG report, continuing its ESG management achievements. Recently, it also achieved an excellent overall 'B+' grade in its first evaluation this year by the Korea Corporate Governance Service (KCGS) ESG assessment.
