The blood donation event was organized to help alleviate the winter blood supply shortage and to promote a culture of blood donation participation within the region.
According to the Korean Red Cross, donated blood cannot be stored for a long time (packed red blood cells for 35 days, platelets for 5 days), so continuous and steady blood donations are necessary to maintain an adequate blood supply of five days.
Council members and staff boarded the blood donation bus and participated in blood donation while adhering to COVID-19 prevention guidelines such as wearing masks, measuring body temperature, and hand sanitization.
