Joo Ho-young Calls Emergency Meeting of Ruling Party Veterans... Likely to Discuss Boycott of State Audit
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] On the afternoon of the 29th, the Democratic Party of Korea held a party caucus meeting to discuss the dismissal of Minister of the Interior and Safety Lee Sang-min, while the People Power Party also convened an emergency senior members meeting that same afternoon.
The People Power Party announced that under the leadership of floor leader Joo Ho-young, they held a closed-door emergency senior members meeting in the floor leader's office in the National Assembly Main Building to discuss current issues of the regular session.
The People Power Party stated that if the Democratic Party pushes for a dismissal motion against Minister Lee, they will respond by boycotting the Itaewon disaster state audit, and thus the boycott is expected to be discussed at the senior members meeting.
