One Third Collaborates with Global Chemical Company 'Dow' for Joint Product Development
Exclusive Supply of Polyurethane Raw Materials and Joint Product Development 'Join Hands'
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Sleep specialty brand Sambunuiil (CEO Jeon Ju-hoon) announced on the 29th that it has signed a business agreement with global material science company Dow to jointly develop memory foam mattress products. Memory foam mattresses, produced mainly from polyurethane, have the advantage of conforming perfectly to the body's contours by allowing shape deformation and recovery tailored to the body, compared to spring mattresses. Dow is a polyurethane raw material manufacturer that holds proprietary technology.
The two companies agreed that Dow will exclusively supply polyurethane raw materials for Sambunuiil's memory foam mattress products, and they will jointly develop all of Sambunuiil's foam mattress products. Sambunuiil plans to apply the polyurethane material technology jointly developed with Dow to all existing foam mattress products as well as its first sleep tech product scheduled for release next year.
By conducting the entire process from foam mattress raw materials to product development with Dow, Sambunuiil has enhanced product completeness and maintained consistent quality, securing price competitiveness by eliminating intermediaries. In particular, Sambunuiil will also promote an original design manufacturer (ODM) business for mattresses in collaboration with Dow. Dow expects that through this agreement, it will expand the polyurethane product market and strengthen its consumer-friendly brand image.
