Jeju Fire Station Launches Fire Prevention Campaign at Traditional Market
[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Jeju Fire Station (Chief Ko Jae-woo) announced on the 28th that it conducted a fire prevention campaign at traditional markets (Dongmun and Seomun Markets) in celebration of November Fire Prevention Emphasis Month.
The campaign, attended by about 20 people including Chief Ko Jae-woo and executives of the Volunteer Fire Brigade Association, was organized to foster a voluntary safety atmosphere among traditional market merchants and visitors.
The campaign included distributing checklists for Store Inspection Day, guiding merchants to inspect and prevent hazards themselves, and urging participation in spreading a fire prevention atmosphere to create a safe traditional market.
Chief Ko Jae-woo said, "I hope this campaign helped raise safety awareness among residents," and added, "We will do our best to create a safe traditional market through periodic campaigns and active participation from merchants."
