Final Training Ahead of Ghana vs. Korea Match
Director Ado Criticized for Defensive Play at Press Conference
Ghana, in Group H of the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar group stage, held their final training session ahead of their showdown with Korea. On the afternoon of the 27th (Korean time), all twenty-six players gathered at the Aspire Zone training facility in Doha, Qatar, to sharpen their match readiness. Coach Otto Addo allowed about 30 minutes of media coverage. Most of the reporters were Korean, but he paid no mind. Usually, national teams only open their training sessions to the media for about 15 minutes.
The atmosphere was relatively bright and relaxed. However, defenders such as Mohammed Salisu (Southampton), Alexander Djiku (Strasbourg), and Daniel Amartey (Leicester City) trained with a notably serious expression. They conceded three goals in their first match against Portugal on the 25th. The team lost 2-3. Earlier, at a press conference held at the Main Media Center (MMC), Coach Addo faced critical questions from local media about whether his tactics were overly defensive.
