On the 25th, Gyeonggi Province announced that it held the 'Digital Sex Crime Citizen Response Monitoring Group Closing Ceremony' at the Gyeonggi Women's Family Foundation.
Earlier in April, the province established the 'Digital Sex Crime Citizen Response Monitoring Group' within the Gyeonggi Women's Family Foundation's Digital Sex Crime Victim One-Stop Support Center, appointed 31 monitoring members, and began monitoring digital sex crime posts and accounts on social networking services (SNS) such as Instagram.
The monitoring group consists of adult men and women from their 20s to 60s, active in various fields, who operate their own SNS accounts. The province provided the monitoring members with training to strengthen their capacity to respond to digital sex crimes, education to prevent burnout, and conducted surveillance activities on illegal sexual exploitation materials. They also participated in online promotional activities to raise public awareness.
Kim Mi-seong, Director of the Women's Family Bureau of the province, stated, "Digital sex crimes have deeply infiltrated our surroundings and threaten daily life, so only everyone's attention can prevent the spread of digital sex crimes. We thank all the monitoring members who responded to this call with voluntary participation and devoted themselves to the activities despite mental fatigue."
