Everyone Is Equal Before Education! ... Daegu Cyber University Inherits Founder’s Will to Develop and Operate a 'Learning Management System'
Recruitment of New and Transfer Students for 15 Departments in 4 Colleges Starting from the 1st of Next Month
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] Daegu Cyber University is well known as a university that continues the will of Pastor Lee Young-sik, who opened the field of special education, striving to ensure that everyone can enjoy equal education in the era of online education.
Daegu Cyber University focuses on web accessibility to guarantee equal learning rights without discrimination for information-vulnerable groups such as people with disabilities and the elderly, developing and operating a ‘Learning Management System (LMS)’ that incorporates ‘web standards’ and ‘web accessibility compliance’ to support university life and learning rights.
In particular, Daegu Cyber University's Learning Management System (LMS) serves as a system necessary for university life, including course registration, exams, and academic information, becoming an emerging online classroom in the post-COVID-19 era.
In 2014, the university was the first to obtain the web accessibility quality certification mark for its university homepage, and in 2020, it became the first domestic university to acquire the web accessibility quality certification for its Learning Management System (LMS, online classroom), the only remote university to do so, thus operating an accessible online classroom.
The web accessibility quality certification is a system recognized by a nationally accredited web accessibility quality certification institution, awarding a quality mark to excellent sites that comply with web accessibility standard guidelines to ensure that people with disabilities and the elderly do not experience inconvenience when using websites.
Moreover, the university checks compliance with web accessibility when producing lecture content and strives to enhance educational satisfaction by securing the quality of classes through various methods.
Lee Geun-yong, President of Daegu Cyber University, said, “We are pleased that our university’s smart portal Learning Management System (LMS) has obtained web accessibility quality certification, enabling us to provide equal opportunities for higher education to everyone regardless of disability, in accordance with the founding philosophy of the institution.” He added, “We will continue to work hard to guarantee equal learning rights for all as a university specializing in special education.”
