Jeonnam Provincial Assembly Member Park Hyung-dae Proposes 'Living Wage Amendment Ordinance' as Lead Sponsor
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] Park Hyung-dae, a Jeonnam Provincial Assembly member (Progressive Party·Jangheung 1), who proposed the representative bill, "Partial Amendment to the Jeonnam Office of Education Living Wage Ordinance," passed the review of the Education Committee of the Jeonnam Provincial Assembly on the 23rd.
This ordinance was prepared to stipulate the necessary matters for paying the living wage to contribute to the stabilization of workers' lives and the improvement of their actual quality of life.
The ordinance content was revised to establish the basis for supporting the payment of living wages to all workers, including those affiliated with the Jeonnam Office of Education, so that the purpose's target can be comprehensively supported.
By newly establishing the "Living Wage Encouragement Clause," it stipulates that the Superintendent of Education encourages the payment of living wages to workers affiliated with the contract executor when contracts such as consignment, service, and procurement are concluded and managed.
Assemblyman Park Hyung-dae stated, "It also stipulates that worker representatives, who had been excluded until now, participate in the Living Wage Committee," adding, "Through this amendment, the living wage system will be operated more democratically."

This ordinance, which passed the standing committee, is scheduled to be approved through the plenary session of the 367th Jeonnam Provincial Assembly's 2nd regular meeting on the 9th of next month.
