View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Hanwha Hotels & Resorts announced on the 23rd that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for a joint development project of workation (working while on vacation) spaces with Allicon on the 22nd at the 63 Building in Yeouido, Seoul.
Hanwha Hotels & Resorts is building smart work systems in line with trends changing after COVID-19. It offers various work styles such as flexible seating, hub shared offices, and promoting workation within its operating lodging facilities. Hanwha Resort Jeju also sold long-term workation accommodation packages to customers, receiving positive responses.
Allicon, which is partnering in this agreement, operates the career network platform 'RocketPunch' and the distributed office 'Jibmusil.' Hanwha Hotels & Resorts plans to develop idle spaces in hotels and resorts nationwide operated by them into work lounges and introduce lodging products. The first location to proceed is Hanwha Resort Jeju. They plan to provide a differentiated remote work experience in unique stone houses and annexes full of Jeju’s atmosphere.

Kim Hyung-jo, CEO of Hanwha Hotels & Resorts, said, "Based on workations conducted for employees, we aim to create a workstay space representing Korea," adding, "We will proactively respond to the workation market by combining Hanwha Hotels & Resorts’ lodging infrastructure with Allicon’s space development capabilities and operational expertise."
