View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Minwoo Lee] Korea Asset Management Corporation (KAMCO) discussed the development of marine finance with the Korea Maritime Institute (KMI).
On the 22nd, KAMCO announced that it held a "Practical Workshop for the Sustainable Development of the Marine Industry" with KMI at the KAMCO headquarters in the Busan International Financial Center.
This workshop was a follow-up measure to the memorandum of understanding signed by the two organizations in June for the sustainable development of the marine industry. It was organized to exchange market information related to marine finance and to discover policies to enhance the competitiveness of the marine industry.
At the workshop, KAMCO presented an introduction to its ship financing program and research results on changes in the shipping market, while KMI presented and discussed its long-term development plan for the marine industry and its 2023 research strategy for the shipping sector.

Won Hojun, head of KAMCO's Corporate Support Division, said, "This workshop is meaningful as it is the first occasion to discuss the development of marine finance together," adding, "Going forward, the two organizations will continuously cooperate to strengthen their joint role in preparing for the future of the shipping industry."
