Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam conducted a comprehensive field training on the 22nd at Sangok Jugong 1st Apartment Complex in cooperation with Korea Land and Housing Corporation, following the nationwide implementation of the ‘2022 Disaster Response Safe Korea Drill’.
During the comprehensive field training, the city simulated a scenario of a 6.2 magnitude earthquake causing partial collapse and fire in Building 104 at Sangok Jugong 1st Apartment Complex in Naeseo-eup, Masanhwoin-gu. The initial response stages, including ▲resident evacuation procedures ▲evacuation routes for vulnerable groups, were inspected. The training aimed to enhance practical capabilities for accident management and recovery, proceeding with a regional disaster countermeasures headquarters operation discussion drill at 10 a.m., followed by an on-site surprise drill.
In addition to the city and Korea Land and Housing Corporation, which organized the drill, 22 related organizations, private groups, and over 403 citizens participated, including Masan Fire Station, Army 5870 Unit 1st Battalion, Masan Eastern Police Station, Korea Electric Power Corporation Masan Branch, Korean Red Cross Gyeongnam Branch, KT Masan Branch, Gyeongnam Energy, Changwon City Volunteer Disaster Prevention Corps, and Women’s Civil Defense Mobile Unit. Each organization was assigned mobilization equipment (personnel) and tasks. Fire trucks, police cars, ambulances, aerial ladder trucks, rescue and emergency equipment, disaster rescue drones, and advanced equipment such as disaster safety communication networks (PS-LTE) were deployed, creating a tense atmosphere reminiscent of an actual disaster scene.
