[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) announced on the 22nd that it conducted a joint response drill with related agencies at the Geumjeong Tunnel on the Gyeongbu High-Speed Line to check disaster preparedness systems against earthquakes and fires. The drill simulated a situation where a KTX train traveling from Seoul Station to Busan Station made an emergency stop inside the tunnel due to an earthquake, and proceeded as a 'complex disaster' response process to ensure passenger safety from an unexpected cabin fire. In particular, the drill focused on intensively checking the cooperation system among related agencies for life rescue in emergency situations and finding cooperation measures to minimize damage. At the drill site, KORAIL employees are conducting track restoration and inspection work. Provided by Korea Railroad Corporation
