Boasting Unique Flavors from Different Cask Aging
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] Lotte Mart announced on the 22nd that it will launch four types of Innis & Gunn craft beers aged in whiskey casks at all stores on the 24th.
Innis & Gunn is the top craft beer brand in the Edinburgh region of Scotland. The founder, a master brewer, has partnered with the famous whiskey distillery Laphroaig to present unique beers aged in single malt whiskey casks.
The products being sold this time include The Original Cask aged in single malt whiskey casks, Caribbean Rum Cask aged in rum casks, Irish Whiskey Cask full of dark chocolate and vanilla flavors, and Islay Whiskey Cask aged in Laphroaig Quarter Casks, famous for Islay whiskey. Each is aged in different casks, boasting unique flavors according to the characteristics of the cask.
In particular, the Islay Whiskey Cask, available in limited quantities, is a product aged for 12 weeks in casks that carry Laphroaig’s distinctive flavor along with brine, vanilla, and floral scents. It is expected to be very popular due to its excellent pairing with seasonal winter seafood such as oysters.
