Gyeongnam Office of Education and Ministry of Gender Equality Join Forces to Support Youth Inside and Outside Schools

The signing ceremony held at the provincial Office of Education was attended by Superintendent Park Jong-hoon and Minister Kim Hyun-sook, among others.
The two organizations agreed to cooperate in five areas: ▲ linkage between school curricula and youth activity programs ▲ connection to out-of-school youth support centers when students drop out ▲ prevention and protection of at-risk youth through cooperation between schools and youth facilities ▲ support for healing youth internet and smartphone overdependence and emotional and behavioral problems ▲ strengthening cooperation systems among the Office of Education, support offices, schools, and youth facilities.
According to the provincial Office of Education, this agreement reflects key points from the "Measures to Strengthen Support for Youth Inside and Outside Schools through Linkage and Cooperation between School Education and Youth Policies," jointly announced by related agencies at the National Policy Issues Ministers' Meeting on October 6.
Superintendent Park said, "It is very important for school youth to experience various activities and receive timely support when needed," adding, "The two organizations will join forces to create an environment where youth can nurture their dreams and grow safely and healthily both inside and outside of school."

Minister Kim stated, "We expect this agreement to greatly expand the support base for youth inside and outside of schools," and added, "We will continue to expand the cooperation system through nationwide clean companionship agreements with city and provincial offices of education and faithfully implement the agreement contents to become a strong support for youth to grow healthily."
