The Human Cultural Asset Keeper Sharing Performance is part of Handok’s ongoing Human Cultural Asset Keeper campaign, which has been steadily conducted since 2009 to raise awareness of the value and importance of traditional culture. This year’s sharing performance was held together with Kim Aeseon, the holder of the National Intangible Cultural Property No. 17, Pungsan Talchum (mask dance), to promote the value of Korean mask dance. It was organized at the recently completed Handok Future Complex to provide an opportunity for elementary school students and families in the Magok area to experience traditional culture.
More than 80 participants watched the Pungsan Talchum performance and engaged in various experiences such as learning the basic movements of the mask dance and enjoying traditional musical instrument performances. They also had time to view medicinal artifacts at Handok’s Pharmaceutical Museum within the Future Complex while listening to explanations from a curator.
Kim Youngjin, Chairman of Handok, said, "I hope children develop more interest in traditional culture and that this precious traditional culture continues healthily across generations. We will continue to strive to be a company that contributes to society by coexisting with the local community and supporting the healthy continuation of traditional culture."
