Gyeongnam Jeongbo University Holds Forum for Nurturing Talent in Next-Generation Semiconductor Field

View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] The New Industry Specialized Project Group of Gyeongnam Information University (President Kim Dae-sik) held a ‘Talent Development Forum’ on the 17th with the Daelim University Project Group to expand business achievements in the next-generation semiconductor field and foster semiconductor talent.
The event was attended by about 70 people from semiconductor industry companies and related organizations, including officials from Gyeongnam Information University and Daelim University, Executive Director Ahn Ki-hyun of the Korea Semiconductor Industry Association, and Dr. Park Dong-yeol of the Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education and Training.
At the forum, Dr. Park Dong-yeol of the Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education and Training gave a special lecture titled ‘Paradigm Shift in Higher Vocational Education for Future Workforce Development.’
In his lecture, Dr. Park emphasized the necessity of work-learning-life linked vocational education and urged universities to serve as regional talent development hubs.
Following this, Executive Director Ahn Ki-hyun of the Korea Semiconductor Industry Association delivered a special lecture on ‘Prospects for the Semiconductor Industry and Talent Development,’ covering current South Korean semiconductor industry promotion policies, strategies, and industry status.
After a panel discussion on semiconductor technical workforce development plans, presentations on the business status and achievements of the two universities were also conducted.
Im Jun-woo, head of the project group at Gyeongnam Information University, said, “We will do our best to cultivate customized talent required in the field for the development of the semiconductor industry,” adding, “Gyeongnam Information University will establish itself as a leading university in semiconductor professional workforce development, keeping pace with the rapidly changing industrial environment.”
