Jeju Fire Headquarters Holds 'Emergency Medical Guidance Council' Meeting
[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] The Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Fire Safety Headquarters (Chief Park Geun-o) announced on the 18th that it held the 2022 Emergency Medical Guidance Council on the 17th and focused on discussing ways to strengthen the capabilities of emergency medical technicians and improve the quality of 119 emergency medical services.
The Emergency Medical Guidance Council consists of seven members, including five emergency medical guidance doctors who are emergency medicine specialists from general hospitals in the province (119 comprehensive situation room, each fire station) and two fire officials.
The council plays a role in consulting or coordinating matters related to improving the pre-hospital medical guidance system, operating emergency medical guidance doctors and medical guidance for emergency medical technicians, quality management and evaluation indicators of emergency activities, research and development of new technologies related to emergency medical services, and improvement and development of indirect medical guidance 'Standard Guidelines for On-site Emergency Treatment.'
At this council meeting, various discussions were held, including performance analysis of emergency activities in 2022, education and training for emergency medical technicians, and improvement of emergency service quality. The agreed matters will be actively reflected in the establishment of emergency administration and policies next year.
Chief Park Geun-o said, "We will continue to hold the Emergency Medical Guidance Council regularly and actively reflect it in emergency policies to improve the quality of 119 emergency services and make our best efforts to protect the lives of the residents."
Meanwhile, the Emergency Medical Guidance Council periodically evaluates the quality of 119 emergency activities and prepares improvement measures. It also contributes to enhancing the quality of 119 emergency services by strengthening the capabilities of emergency medical technicians through on-site education at each fire station.
