Presidential Office Holds NSC Standing Committee Meeting on North Korea's Ballistic Missile Launch

[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] On the 18th, the Presidential Office held a Standing Committee meeting of the National Security Council (NSC), chaired by Kim Sung-han, Director of the National Security Office, to discuss countermeasures in response to North Korea's ballistic missile launch.
The Presidential Office announced through a press release that the NSC Standing Committee meeting was held at 11:30 a.m. that day.
North Korea launched a ballistic missile eastward that morning. The military estimates the missile to be an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) and is analyzing its specifications such as flight distance, altitude, and speed.
Regarding North Korea's repeated missile provocations, the Presidential Office stated that it will respond sternly based on cooperation with the international community.

President Yoon Suk-yeol emphasized during the joint press conference of the Korea-Spain summit that afternoon, "We strongly condemned North Korea's unprecedented frequency and intensity of ballistic missile launches recently," adding, "Just earlier this morning, they launched an ICBM. Prime Minister S?nchez and I agreed to closely cooperate to lead a unified response from the international community."
