Gyeonggi-do Holds 'Demo Day' to Enhance Investment Attraction Competitiveness for SMEs
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province held an 'Online Virtual Demo Day' on the 16th to strengthen the overseas investment attraction competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the province.
The demo day was organized to enable companies to showcase their business models and investment attraction directions to investors before full-scale business operations, aiming to lead to actual investment attraction.
The event was attended by more than 20 investment firms from the U.S., Singapore, and other countries in various fields such as artificial intelligence (AI), fintech, bio, and business-to-business (B2B) software. Eight domestic SMEs participated and conducted investor relations (IR) presentations to attract investment.
The province expects that the local companies participating in the demo day will achieve outcomes such as technology negotiations, attracting investment funds through in-kind investments, establishing joint ventures, signing patent licensing agreements, and conditional investment contracts by interacting with investors at this event.
Lee Min-woo, head of the Investment Promotion Division of the province, stated, "Since the demo day was held for exchanges between promising local companies and investors and for follow-up investment attraction, we plan to continue supporting investment attraction for local companies even after the event."
