Establishment of Wando Seafood Export and Direct Trade Market at Dtalatlao Market

[Wando=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Kyung-pil] Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that on the 14th, it signed a business agreement in Vientiane, Laos with Talat Lao (TLL), the largest wholesale market in Laos, to pioneer sales channels for Wando seafood throughout Laos.

Talat Lao, located in the Saythani district of Vientiane, has distribution channels throughout Laos and promotes export/import, wholesale and retail market operations, and domestic distribution. The main traded products at Talat Lao include vegetables, fruits, local foods, fish, seafood, poultry, frozen foods, and dried foods.

Through the agreement, the county opened the way to export and directly trade Wando seafood in the Laos wholesale market based on mutual cooperation with Talat Lao.

Additionally, Wando-gun established a communication channel to smoothly interact with the Laos government and companies, promising to do its best to contribute to the development of both Wando-gun and Laos, including community contributions.

Shin Woo-cheol, Wando County Governor, said, “Together with KOLAO Group, a national company representing Laos, we will do our best to establish Wando specialties as leaders in the Southeast Asian premium market not only in Laos but also in Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia, etc., by building promotional centers, developing new products, and supporting promotional events to captivate the tastes of people worldwide.”

Meanwhile, Oh Se-young, chairman of KOLAO Group (currently LVMC Holdings), a national company of Laos, served as a bridge to enable this business agreement and was the grand prize winner of the 2020 Jangbogo Hansang Award.

The county is currently negotiating to have Wando seafood processed products sold at ‘Kok Kok Megamart,’ a super-large mart of over 3,000 pyeong scheduled to open this year by KOLAO Group.
