Gwangju Bank Launches 'Haengun Savings' Adding Fun to Finance
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Gwangju Bank announced on the 16th that its ‘Haengun Savings’ launched last September surpassed 20,000 accounts within two months of its release.
Launched in September to commemorate the 54th anniversary of Gwangju Bank’s founding, ‘Haengun Savings’ is a non-face-to-face exclusive product that can be easily subscribed to using the Gwangju Bank Smart Banking app (APP) or mobile web banking without visiting a branch. Every Monday, a lucky number consisting of a combination of six random digits is assigned, and a draw is held on Friday among the assigned lucky numbers. The winning accounts receive a preferential interest rate of 10%p (points) per annum.
If selected in the lucky number draw and subscribed to the one-year fixed installment savings plan, customers can receive a high interest rate of 13.70% per annum (13.40% per annum for flexible installment savings). Additionally, the fun element of the lucky number draw has made it popular among customers.
Although the lucky number draw method of ‘Haengun Savings’ is reminiscent of a lottery, unlike that, winners are drawn every Friday from the lucky numbers issued every Monday, resulting in a total of 540 lucky numbers being drawn over 28 rounds, which further raises customers’ expectations.
In particular, various events conducted for customers who subscribed to ‘Haengun Savings’ played a significant role in its success. Following the ‘Catch the Dior Lady Bag! 100-Day Event’ which ended in July, the ongoing ‘Haengun’s Chanel 多 Dream 7 Event’ running until December 16 offers luxury items such as Dior Lady Bags and Chanel bags as grand prizes, receiving enthusiastic responses from customers.
Bank President Song Jong-wook said, “I sincerely thank the local residents and customers who have shared the 54-year history of Gwangju Bank and have shown great interest and support for ‘Haengun Savings,’ which was launched to share fun and emotion together.” He added, “We will continue to lead digital financial innovation with Gwangju Bank’s uniqueness by striving to develop various products and services that reflect financial trends along with the joy of everyday finance.”
Meanwhile, Gwangju Bank is conducting the ‘Haengun’s Chanel 多 Dream 7 Event’ and the ‘Spread the Word about Haengun Savings for More Dream’ event for customers who subscribe to ‘Haengun Savings.’
The ‘Haengun’s Chanel 多 Dream Event’ runs until December 16 and offers luxury items such as Chanel bags and Chanel clutches as prizes to customers who subscribe to ‘Haengun Savings’ with a fixed monthly installment of 100,000 KRW or more and apply separately through the Gwangju Bank Smart Banking app (APP).
The ‘Spread the Word about Haengun Savings for More Dream’ event increases the chances of winning the 10%p preferential interest rate and runs until March 12, 2023. Customers who share via KakaoTalk or text message to acquaintances by clicking the ‘Spread the Word and Get More Lucky Numbers’ button at the bottom of the Haengun Savings status board on Gwangju Bank Smart Banking and mobile web banking will receive up to four additional lucky number sets (each set consisting of six digits) per week for the 10%p preferential interest rate draw.
