On the 16th, CEO Koo attended the KT AI strategy presentation meeting held at Sofitel Ambassador Seoul in Songpa-gu, Seoul, and explained the background of his reappointment. He first explained the achievements after KT pursued the Digico strategy. CEO Koo opened by saying, "The Digico strategy has brought numerous changes and achievements to KT." He continued, "In the two years since declaring KT as a Digico, we have achieved higher performance in terms of sales and profit growth than at any other time in KT's history," adding, "The stock price has also increased by 80% compared to when I took office, which I believe proves the Digico strategy was correct."
He then mentioned, "Is this just a change over two to three years, or can it structurally transform to create new businesses and evolve as a new type of business operator? From this perspective, it is still difficult to judge that structural and sustainability have been secured, which led me to consider renewing my term." CEO Koo said, "Overseas shareholders have evaluated KT not as a simple telecommunications company but as a role model that telecommunications companies worldwide should follow," adding, "Since KT is creating a new industry model leading digital transformation based on telecommunications, firmly establishing this foundation is the task ahead."

The KT board has begun the process of appointing a CEO to lead the KT Group for the next three years starting next year. According to Article 7 of the KT Governance Committee Operating Regulations, if the KT board decides to prioritize the reappointment review of the incumbent CEO, it does not select separate CEO candidates and first reviews the reappointment. With CEO Koo expressing his intention to renew, the KT board formed a CEO candidate screening committee on the 8th and will conduct the review according to the articles of association and related regulations. CEO Koo's term lasts until the KT regular shareholders' meeting in March next year.
