Daejeon City Publishes List of 254 High-Amount and Habitual Tax Delinquents
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Daejeon City has disclosed the list of 254 high-amount and habitual tax delinquents.
On the 16th, the city announced that it has published the list of high-amount and habitual local tax delinquents with arrears of 10 million KRW or more on the city hall website and the Wetax platform.
The disclosed high-amount and habitual delinquents are those who have had arrears of 10 million KRW or more for over one year as of January 1 of this year. Until October, the city gave these individuals and entities opportunities for voluntary payment and explanation, and after review by the Local Tax Deliberation Committee, the final list was confirmed.
The city revealed that among the local tax high-amount and habitual delinquents, there are 188 individuals (5.01 billion KRW) and 66 corporations (2.698 billion KRW), with the total arrears amounting to 7.699 billion KRW.
The highest amount owed by an individual is 357 million KRW, and for a corporation, it is 315 million KRW. Regarding the arrears brackets, those owing between 10 million KRW and less than 30 million KRW numbered 197 (77.5%), the largest group, with their total arrears amounting to 3.044 billion KRW, accounting for 39.5% of the total arrears.
Among individual delinquents, those in their 40s and 50s accounted for 107 people (2.713 billion KRW, 56.9%), representing a significant proportion.
The list of high-amount and habitual delinquents can be viewed on the Ministry of the Interior and Safety or city websites, as well as on the Wetax disclosure site.
The disclosed items include the delinquent’s name, business name (for corporations), age, occupation, address, amount owed, and details of the arrears.

A city official stated, “In addition to disclosing the list of high-amount and habitual delinquents, we will do our best to foster a culture of sincere tax payment and realize tax justice by implementing administrative sanctions such as travel bans, public information registration, restrictions on licensed businesses, as well as property seizure and entrusting the Korea Customs Service with delinquent disposition.”
