Samsung Changwon Hospital and Korea Gems Sign MOU for Field-Centered Medical Device Development and Improvement
Healthcare professionals and patients emphasize satisfaction, pledge joint development and improvement of medical devices
Sungkyunkwan University Samsung Changwon Hospital and Korea Gems have signed a business agreement for on-site focused medical device development and improvement.
View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Song Jong-gu] Sungkyunkwan University Samsung Changwon Hospital and Korea Gems signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on the 15th to develop and improve medical devices focused on field practice.
Through this MOU, both organizations plan to actively cooperate to enhance satisfaction for medical staff and patients by ▲joint research on medical device development and improvement ▲mutual technical and advisory support ▲joint collaboration for the commercialization of medical devices.
Samsung Changwon Hospital previously proposed ideas for medical device improvements to Korea Gems through the ‘Blue Diamond’ initiative, which has been promoted since 2021 to innovate the hospital. Based on Samsung Changwon Hospital’s ideas, Korea Gems improved the medical device ‘EZ-VAC,’ which automatically drains postoperative bodily fluids and plasma, achieving high satisfaction in medical field use.
Director Ko Gwang-cheol said, “To develop and improve medical devices centered on clinical practice, we collaborated with the nation’s top medical company. Through the exchange between Korea Gems, which possesses extensive know-how and expertise not only in research and manufacturing but also in distribution and marketing, and Samsung Changwon Hospital with excellent infrastructure, the importance of field-centered medical devices will grow even more.”
