Hannam University’s Yoon Eun-young Wins Grand Prize in Investigative, In-depth, and Reportage Journalism Contest
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Yoon Eun-young (4th year, photo), a student majoring in Political Communication at Hannam University, won the grand prize in the 5th Investigative, In-depth, and Reportage Journalism Contest hosted by the News Agency Promotion Association.
According to the university on the 15th, Yoon formed a team with two other students from different universities and produced an investigative and in-depth report titled "We Are 'Borderline Intellectuals': The Lives of Borderline Intellectuals in Korean Society."
The judging committee explained the reason for selecting the grand prize, stating that Yoon’s report "stood out by diagnosing the difficulties faced by 'borderline intellectuals' who are in welfare blind spots and the insufficient attention from Korean society towards them, analyzing data such as the regional distribution of support projects related to the education system, and verifying these through actual cases."
A total of 21 reports were submitted for the contest. The News Agency Promotion Association selected one grand prize winner, two excellence awardees, and two encouragement awardees as the final winners. The award ceremony was held on the 14th.

Meanwhile, the Political Communication Department at Hannam University operates academic programs related to politics, journalism, and advertising/public relations, as well as employment competency enhancement programs for career development. Graduates mainly enter the media industry as reporters, editors, PDs, advertising planners, and work as experts in various fields.
