[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 15th that it will hold the online and offline digital finance event, "2022 Seoul Digital Finance Festival," themed "Digital Finance Megatrend Outlook," from the 16th to the 19th at financial hubs around Yeouido, including the Federation of Korean Industries (FKI) Hall Grand Ballroom, The Forum (Two IFC), and Seoul International Finance Office.
The "Seoul Digital Finance Festival" is an event co-hosted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Financial Supervisory Service. Since 2006, it has established itself as an international event addressing major issues and prospects in the financial industry, accompanying Seoul's rise as a global financial city. This year, the festival focuses on expanding the base of digital finance and enhancing the event's substance, offering a total of eight programs over four days that allow participation not only from experts in finance and fintech but also citizens interested in digital finance, while supporting the strengthening of global networking for domestic fintech companies.
On the 16th, the programs include ▲ IBK 1st Lab × Seoul Fintech Lab Demo Day ▲ Fintech Networking Day; on the 17th, ▲ Seoul Digital Finance Conference ▲ Fintech Promotion Booth; on the 18th, ▲ Global Fintech Open Talk ▲ Digital Finance Specialized Seminar ▲ Financial Hub Strategy Seminar; and on the final day, the 19th, weekend programs with citizens such as ▲ Influencer Talk with Sampro TV and other themed events will be held.
On the first day of the "2022 Seoul Digital Finance Festival," the 16th, the Seoul Metropolitan Government and IBK Industrial Bank of Korea will hold the open innovation event "IBK 1st Lab x Seoul Fintech Lab Demo Day" at The Forum in Yeouido. At the Demo Day, investment attraction presentations by a total of six companies affiliated with Seoul Fintech Lab and IBK 1st Lab will be held as a closed event. On the same day, the "Fintech Networking Day" will also take place. The city plans to invite about 40 people, including fintech startups, related organizations, and investors (AC/VC), to create a networking and information-sharing platform.
On the second day of the event, the 17th, the "2022 Seoul Digital Finance Conference" will be held at the FKI Hall Grand Ballroom in Yeouido. Keynote speakers include former Estonian President Toomas Hendrik Ilves and other global scholars and experts who will provide advice on the transition to the future digital era and Seoul's future strategies, share the current status of the digital finance market, and seek growth opportunities.
On the third day, the 18th, the "Fintech Global Open Talk," an invited program for overseas fintech associations and related organizations, will be held at The Forum in Yeouido. Co-hosted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Korea Fintech Industry Association, this event invites fintech associations and institutions from Singapore and Vietnam?markets with the highest demand for overseas expansion by domestic fintech companies?to provide detailed insights into those fintech markets and offer networking opportunities for fintech companies seeking overseas expansion and foreign stakeholders.
On the 19th, at the Seoul International Finance Office in Yeouido, the "Influencer Talk with Sampro TV," targeting citizens interested in finance and economics, will be held in collaboration with the popular economic YouTube channel "Sampro TV." The event will feature Sampro TV hosts Kim Dong-hwan, Lee Jin-woo, and Jung Young-jin discussing "Asset Management Strategies in the Post-COVID Era" and answering questions submitted by citizens in advance.

Hwang Bo-yeon, Director of the Seoul Metropolitan Government's Economic Policy Office, said, "We hope that the 2022 Seoul Digital Finance Festival will serve as an opportunity for experts, scholars, promising companies, and investors from various fields to gather in one place to analyze trends in the digital finance market and explore Seoul's response strategies."
